We operate elite-tier data centers designed to support mission‑critical infrastructure for clients across various industries. We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager to expand our client base and drive revenue for our data center services.
Mission:
Your mission is to identify, prospect, negotiate, and close new business opportunities within the data center services sector. You will be responsible for bringing in customers who need secure, reliable space and power for their IT equipment, leveraging your established network and expertise to position ServerMonkey as their preferred partner.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospecting & Lead Generation:
Actively identify and pursue new client opportunities within the colocation, enterprise, and managed services markets through cold calling, networking, industry events, and online channels.
Strategic Sales:
Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing, consistently meeting or exceeding annual revenue targets.
Relationship Building:
Build and nurture strong, long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers (C‑suite, IT Directors, Infrastructure Managers) at prospective client organizations.
Solution Design:
Conduct discovery sessions to understand client IT infrastructure needs and collaborate with internal solution architects and operations teams to design tailored proposals for colocation, power density, and connectivity.
Market Intelligence:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies (like AI's impact on power density) to adjust strategies and maximize sales impact.
CRM Management:
Utilize Salesforce (or similar CRM) to maintain an accurate and up‑to‑date sales pipeline, log all activity, track opportunities, and provide reliable forecasting.
Networking:
Represent ServerMonkey at relevant industry conferences, trade shows, and professional organizations (e.g., DCD, 7x24 Exchange) to generate leads and enhance brand visibility.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Proven track record of success in business development or sales within the data center, colocation, or IT infrastructure services industry.
Strong knowledge of data center architecture, including an understanding of space, power (MW), cooling, and network connectivity.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions into clear business value.
A self‑starter who can work independently to drive success, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and general contact management software.
Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
