The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating/overseeing the shipping and receiving of finished goods, packaging and raw material(s), machinery, etc. to and from Amneal facilities and its affiliates, domestic and international. This position assists in the daily logistics of the company, while providing feedback to the Supervisor of Logistics.

Essential Functions

Coordinates daily activity to track location and movement of inventory, finished goods, packaging and raw material(s), machinery, via rail cars, barges, trucks, and other forms of transportation.

Obtains shipping rates for all transportation requests to ensure the most cost effective, secure, and timely manner.

Coordinates international shipping processes; ensures clearance, delivery, for in and out bound shipments. Works directly with Freight Forwarders, Brokers, to ensure process is smooth from Shipper to Consignee.

Utilizes various transportation provider software systems to facilitate material movement planning and scheduling.

Prepares and updates monthly reports, and updates Supervisor on any issues.

Verifies shipping quotes, domestic and international, to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.

Re‑routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize costs.

Supports/backs‑up Inventory Control as needed.

Supports the development, implementation, and execution of the transportation/logistics software as needed.

Provides support to multiple departments within the organization as needed.

Ensures compliance with all state, federal, environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations.

Communicates fulfillment status and/or issues within the organization to points including Logistics Management, Sales, and Customer Service.

Maintains documentation and ratings on carriers such as Cargo Liability Certificates, Hazmat Certification, Safety Ratings, Interstate Commerce Authority.

Qualifications Education

High School or GED - Required

Experience

3 years or more in Logistics / Warehouse / Distribution experience - Preferred

3 years or more in Administrative / Office / Customer Service experience - Preferred

Skills

Focused on accuracy and efficiency - Advanced

Must be extremely detailed orientated and organized - Advanced

Strong communication skills - Advanced

Team Player - Advanced

Ability to work under pressure - Intermediate

Ability to read, write and perform basic math skills - Intermediate

Computer efficiency - Intermediate

Specialized Knowledge

Microsoft Office, Excel a priority

JD Edwards a plus
