Gastroenterology Physician

MaineHealth Pen Bay Medical Center is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for a series of scheduled locum blocks in 2026. This is an ideal assignment for physicians who value predictable hours, a supportive environment, and a practice pace that won t wear you out .

They are open to IMLC and traditional licensure , and we will fully assist with the process.

Schedule:

• Monday Friday, 8-hour day + 30-minute lunch

• No weekends, no after-hours call

• Seeking coverage for all dates below:

Setting:

• Mix of Endo + occasional clinic (1 day/week)

• Inpatient consults during daytime hours

• Day call (7a 4p) for urgent inpatient/ER questions

• patients/day in clinic

• Full OR support staff

• Onsite lab + X-ray

• Epic EMR

Required:

• Lower GI endoscopy

• Sigmoidoscopy

• Colonoscopy

• Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, variceal banding, diagnostic)

Advanced procedures:

• Preferred but not required
  

Anesthesia:

• Always both an anesthesiologist + CRNA in the room

• Predictable, steady weekday schedule

• No call, no weekends, no late nights

• Collaborative environment with strong OR and clinical support

• Ideal for GI physicians seeking ongoing work at a sustainable pace

• Full travel paid

• Assignments available into late 2026 (Ideally, must be able to cover at least one week/month)

• Board Certified Gastroenterology ABMS or AOA

• Active ME license or IMLC LOQ preferred but open to traditional licensure (licensing candidates encouraged to apply)

• ACLS + BLS

• COVID & flu vaccination
  

• Institutional ADR 35% preferred
