Job Summary – Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-performing surgical team at a leading healthcare facility in Chicago, IL. The OR RN will provide safe, compassionate, and efficient perioperative nursing care to patients across multiple surgical specialties. The ideal candidate is skilled in both
scrub and circulate
roles, demonstrates strong critical thinking, and excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Base pay range $60.00/hr - $75.00/hr
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care during pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
Assist surgeons during procedures by scrubbing in, preparing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Circulate during surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment, supplies, and documentation are accurate and available.
Perform accurate patient assessments and document care in
Epic
EMR.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse License (State of Illinois).
Minimum
2–3 years of Operating Room experience
(scrub + circulate required).
Current
BLS
certification.
Experience with Epic preferred.
Ability to work across multiple patient age groups (Neonates through Geriatrics).
Shift:
Day/Nights both Shift.
Contract Length:
13 weeks with possible extension.
