Job Summary and Responsibilities Virginia Mason Medical Center has been recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report. As a new graduate RN resident, you will manage complex patients requiring open heart and neurological surgery, neuro and cardiac interventional treatments, vascular, pulmonary, GI, GU support, ventilator care, and mechanical circulatory support such as IABP, Impella, ECMO, CRRT, and other advanced devices. You will multitask and react quickly to varied clinical situations, provide continuous patient monitoring, advocate for patients when they cannot defend themselves, and exercise sound judgment in critical moments.

Most positions are full‑time (36–40 hours per week). Shifts may range from 8 to 12 hours in duration, and some positions may require working every other weekend.
Job Requirements
Current Washington State RN license.
CPR certification required every two years, or as specified by the work.
Graduation from an accredited nursing school approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Upon hiring, completion of quarterly American Heart Association Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification. Ongoing competency is required through internal facility resources only.
