Job Summary:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the facility’s nursing department, ensuring the highest quality care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

Deliver nursing services, including planning, implementing, and evaluating individual resident care plans to maximize quality of life and care.

Ensure adequate staffing levels and competencies to maintain optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing of residents per state and federal regulations.

Maintain facility compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations, ensuring resident and staff information is protected.

Enforce safety rules and procedures that incorporate federal and state regulations and company policies.

Mentor, train, and hold staff (RN, LPN, CNA) accountable for duties in line with facility programs, policies, and procedures.

Provide regular updates to the Executive Director regarding resident status, staffing changes, and service plan adjustments.

Participate in continuing education, training, in‑services, and staff meetings to keep CEUs and professional knowledge current.

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:

Active RN license in good standing.

Minimum 2+ years in geriatric nursing, including medication administration and pharmacy processes.

Minimum 2+ years in supervisory/management position, with experience in budgeting, staff development, training, and scheduling.

Meets all statutory health and safety requirements.

Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Preferred: Working knowledge of MDS process, state/federal surveys, and CMS.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Organizational and effective communicator with residents, families, and community staff in a confidential, professional manner.

Basic computer proficiency and aptitude for learning company applications.

Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to relate positively and appropriately with residents, families, volunteers, and facility staff.

Pay Range:

$150,000 – $200,000 per year (base).

Sign‑On Bonus:

$10,000.
