Job Summary and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and/or NIV testing at a technical level not requiring constant supervision, under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Catholic Healthcare West, the Sonographer is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients.
Must have completed a formal Sonography course or have completed four years of progressively responsible experience in an ultrasound department (such experience must have been within the last five years). This position requires graduation from high school or its equivalent. Completion of annual safety training and maintaining required unit‑specific training are mandatory. Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (RDMS) or RDCS or RVT in at least one field of specialization (Echocardiography/Doppler, Abdominal or OB/Gyn) or eligibility for certification with achievement within one year of eligibility. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Minimum Requirements
Formal Sonography course completion or four years of progressively responsible ultrasound experience (within the last five years).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Annual safety training and ongoing unit‑specific training compliance.
Current RDMS, RDCS or RVT certification in at least one specialty area or eligibility with certification within one year.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.

$76.57 – $84.54 /hour
