A global technology organization specializing in large-venue connectivity is seeking a
Senior WLAN Engineer
to join their advanced wireless engineering team. This role centers around designing, commissioning, optimizing, and supporting
high-density Wi-Fi networks
across complex, large-scale environments.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and customer stakeholders to ensure exceptional wireless performance, reliability, and user experience across mission-critical deployments.
What You'll Be Doing: Design, engineer, and support
enterprise-grade WLAN and Wi-Fi infrastructures
across large commercial venues. Perform peer reviews of
predictive RF models
using industry-standard wireless design tools. Conduct onsite and remote
site surveys , spectrum analysis, and performance assessments. Configure and optimize
Cisco, Ruckus, and Extreme
wireless platforms and their respective controllers. Provide installation guidance to field teams on access point placement, antenna selection, cabling, and wireless hardware setup. Deliver operational support, configuration updates, troubleshooting, and change implementations. Plan, commission, and optimize
high-density Wi-Fi environments , including point-to-point wireless links. Implement WLAN features such as
Secure Mobility, Voice over WLAN, Guest Access, and Passpoint/Hotspot 2.0 . Perform RF channel planning, static assignments, and power-level optimization. Apply best practices across
2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz
deployments. Evaluate wireless hardware, antennas, and related network components. Manage priorities and deliver high-quality work within project timelines. Produce detailed technical documentation for designs, standards, and operational procedures. Contribute to internal best-practice guidelines and engineering playbooks.
Requirements: 6+ years
of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and optimizing WLAN networks in enterprise, MSP, campus, or high-density environments. Deep expertise in
Wi-Fi/RF architecture , RF optimization, and wireless troubleshooting. Experience with: Cisco Wireless Controllers (9800/8510/8540) Ruckus SmartZone / vSZ Extreme Networks wireless platforms Strong understanding of
802.11 standards
(b/g/n/ac/ax/be) and point-to-point wireless technologies. Advanced troubleshooting capability in complex wireless environments. Experience deploying: Secure Mobility Voice over WLAN Guest Access Passpoint / Hotspot 2.0 Proficiency with
Ekahau
and modern spectrum analysis tools. Knowledge of Cisco routing/switching and TCP/IP networking (preferred). Strong customer-facing communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent written and verbal communication. Proficiency with standard documentation tools (e.g., Office, Visio). Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
