Mainframe Vantage Programmer

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Programmer to join our team for a project with a major insurance client. This role involves the development of life insurance products on Mainframe Vantage applications. The ideal candidate will have experience with COBOL, VSAM, JCL, DB2, CICS Webservices, and a strong background in life insurance product development. Key Responsibilities: • Develop life insurance products on Mainframe Vantage applications. • Study, design, develop, and support mission-critical business applications using formal software engineering and project management methodologies. • Perform system and requirement analysis for life insurance products on Mainframe Vantage. • Write technical design documents, test plans, and system interface documents. • Develop code using COBOL, VSAM, JCL, DB2, CICS Webservices, and other Mainframe technologies. • Conduct code and design reviews to ensure compliance with project guidelines and specifications. • Provide SIT and UAT support and participate in production rollouts. • Participate in technical design reviews for new life and annuity product development and enhancements. • Design architecture for system enhancements and applications on Vantage and interfacing applications. • Coordinate with offshore teams and assist in understanding business requirements and solutions. • Work extensively with the offshore/onsite model, maintaining communication with onsite and offshore teams. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience as a Mainframe Vantage Programmer, with a focus on life or annuity product development. • 5+ years of experience in COBOL, VSAM, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, DB2, CICS Webservices, and other Mainframe tools. • Strong experience with life insurance product development (universal life, indexed universal life products) on Vantage Mainframe. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. • Expertise in designing and developing life insurance products on Mainframe Vantage. • Experience with system and requirement analysis, technical design, and testing.
