Job Summary The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) is a field-facing representative of US Medical Affairs with primary responsibility for engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical/scientific information with external customers such as healthcare providers, researchers, professional organization leadership, and population-based decision makers. This role requires demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs, issues, and priorities as they relate to Eisai's strategic business plan. The Sr. MSL provides insights from the field on research developments, treatment landscape, and new medical concepts. Additionally, the Sr. MSL will assume leadership by teaching, coaching, mentoring new or less experienced MSLs, and managing special projects.

Essential Functions

Product/Therapeutic Area Support:

Act as the primary clinical/scientific resource for Healthcare Providers (HCPs), serve as a conduit for accurate medical information, establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, and support professional congresses.

Training/Education Resource:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disease states, study methodologies, clinical data, and serve as a scientific resource for internal teams. Mentor new MSLs and contribute to strategic planning.

Research Support:

Facilitate review of Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), assist with Eisai-sponsored trials, and serve as a primary contact for external investigators.

Professional Organization Support:

Lead efforts in support of collaborations with professional organizations, societies, and advocacy groups.

Educational and Experience Requirements Requires an advanced terminal degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD). Experience ranges from 0-3 years for MSL roles, with at least 3 years of oncology-specific MSL experience for senior roles. Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research, FDA regulations, and established KOL relationships are essential.

Willingness to travel approximately 60%, including international travel, and maintain a valid driver's license.

Additional Information This is a field-based position requiring setting up a home office. Salary ranges are provided, along with benefits and compliance information. Applicants must be able to engage in person with HCPs and meet credentialing or vaccination requirements as needed.
