The Role The AM Lead Server possesses strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. They support senior leadership by delivering exceptional guest service, guiding front-of-house colleagues, and ensuring all service standards are consistently met. This role acts as a working leader—serving tables while also providing on-the-floor direction, training, and support to the server team. The Lead Server helps create a welcoming atmosphere, resolves guest concerns, and ensures smooth, efficient service during all shifts.
The AM Lead Server will demonstrate strong food and beverage knowledge and act as a liaison between culinary and restaurant operations. While their main focus will be Perseid, this leader may occasionally assist in other Food & Beverage outlets as needed, including for training, operational support, or special events.
This position plays a key role in overall outlet performance, ensuring product quality, service standards, and guest satisfaction. In addition to the lead floor role, the AM Lead Server will assist in maintaining consistency through quality control systems, checklists, order guides, and inventory management.
Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.
Key Responsibilities
Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service to all guests.
Greet, seat, and serve guests according to service standards.
Anticipate guest needs and address concerns promptly and professionally.
Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including menus, specials, wine, and beverage offerings.
Serve as the point of contact for servers, hosts, and support staff during shifts.
Assist in training new servers on service standards, POS usage, and guest-service expectations.
Conduct pre-shift meetings with updates, specials, and service reminders when assigned.
Support team members during peak periods to ensure timely service.
Coach colleagues in the moment to correct service gaps or reinforce standards.
Oversee table assignments, pacing, and section flow to maintain balanced workloads.
Ensure side work, opening, and closing duties are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas and service stations.
Perform quality checks on orders before delivery to guests.
Assist with inventory counts, supply restocking, and linen management as needed.
Process orders, payments, and adjustments accurately in the POS system.
Assist with voids, comps, and guest checks as authorized by management.
Report any operational or guest-service issues to management promptly.
Qualifications
2+ years of serving experience required; upscale or high-volume experience preferred.
Prior leadership or trainer experience a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead by example with professionalism, positivity, and teamwork.
Proficient with POS systems and basic cash-handling procedures.
Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
