Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehab is seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate
Activities Director
to lead our resident activity program in a warm, team-oriented, skilled nursing environment. This role is responsible for designing and delivering engaging programs that enrich residents’ emotional, social, physical, and recreational well-being.
Responsibilities
Plan and publish monthly activity calendars, including movies, parties, games, crafts, community resources, and off-site outings
Assess and monitor residents’ social, spiritual, emotional, and recreational needs through regular interviews and family communication
Promote skill development and engagement through meaningful, person-centered activities
Ensure nursing supervisors assist residents in selecting appropriate activities in accordance with physician orders
Document activity participation and notes in PCC
Recruit, orient, and coordinate volunteers to support program offerings
Manage resident shopping requests and distribute resident mail
Organize and facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings
Maintain compliance with all regulatory guidelines related to activity programming
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Post-secondary education in a related field is desirable
Prior long-term care experience preferred
At least 2 years of supervisory experience
or
experience as a long-term care Activity Director,
or
experience working under a Certified Activity Consultant
NCCAP certification
or
willingness to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
