Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Urology team under the direction of Dr. Christopher Atalla, DO. The PA will provide comprehensive care to patients in both the outpatient and perioperative settings, supporting urologists in clinical, procedural, and educational capacities. This role requires clinical expertise, strong patient communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced urology practice.
About the Collaborating Physician Dr. Christopher Atalla, DO
is the Associate Chief of Urology at GSUH, Director’s of Men’s Health, Robotic Surgery and board-certified urologist. Board-certified urologist with extensive experience in both general and specialty urology, including minimally invasive procedures, post-operative care, and management of complex urologic conditions. Dr. Atalla is committed to providing patient-centered care, emphasizing education, safety, and optimal outcomes. He is actively involved in surgical innovation and mentorship within the urology team, creating a collaborative environment for advanced practice providers.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Management
Evaluate and manage patients in the post-operative period
Manage urologic conditions, including chronic and acute issues
Provide patient education regarding procedures, post-op care, catheter management, and condition management
Respond to call backs and manage in-basket messages in the EMR
Procedural Support
Insert Foley catheters and manage catheter care
Assist in cystoscopies, biopsies, and other urologic procedures
Perform injections as directed by the urologist
Rounds & Collaboration
Assist physicians during rounds and clinical assessments
Collaborate closely with Dr. Christopher Atalla, DO, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate EMR documentation of patient encounters and procedures
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and HIPAA standards
Qualifications
PA-C certification and current state licensure
Experience in urology, surgical care, or related specialty preferred
Proficiency in catheter placement, minor procedures, and perioperative care
Strong clinical judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and patient education skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Salary Range USD $69.54 - USD $73.00 /Hr.
