All Jobs > Program Director for Summer Camp Locations: Camp Ledgewood in Peninsula, OH and/or Camp Timberlane in Wakeman, OH Summer Camp Dates (including staff training days): June 3 - August 11, 2026 The Program Director oversees the design and delivery of impactful, high-quality programming that brings Girl Scout values to life through engaging activities and skill-building experiences. This role is central to the camp’s success, overseeing a diverse range of programs—from arts and crafts to nature exploration, and all-camp activities. In collaboration with the Camp Director, the Program Director manages program scheduling, supervises program staff, and ensures each activity fosters a safe, inclusive, and adventurous environment for campers. Key responsibilities also include assisting in camp administration, staff training, staff and program evaluations, as well as making recommendations for future programming and staffing improvements while upholding the standards set by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO), the American Camp Association (ACA). Requirements

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support and participate in the planning, development, and implementation of all camp programs to ensure they are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with Girl Scout values. Establish and maintain high standards for program quality, regularly evaluating activities to ensure they meet camp goals and provide meaningful experiences for all campers. Support and manage the daily and weekly camp schedules, balancing activity variety and maintaining smooth transitions between programs. Collaborate with Unit Leaders and Program Specialists to coordinate resources, space, and time allocations for each activity, maximizing the efficiency of camp operations. Proactively identify and address potential scheduling conflicts to ensure all camp programs run on time and with minimal disruptions. Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to program staff, ensuring they understand program goals, quality expectations, and safety standards. Manage program supplies and resources, conducting inventory checks and coordinating with the Camp Director to ensure all necessary materials are available. Identify opportunities to streamline program processes, enhancing operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Ensure all program activities adhere to GSUSA, GSNEO, and ACA standards, prioritizing the health and safety of campers and staff. Monitor all program areas for potential risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain a safe camp environment. Promptly report and document any incidents or accidents Recommend improvements and adjustments to program offerings based on assessment data and camper feedback to continually elevate the quality of the camp experience. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful implementation of GSNEO’s goals and objectives. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Successful experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of outdoor living and activity experiences with camp programs Experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity (preferably in an organized camp) Knowledge of girl-led programming in relationship to programming implementation preferred Skilled in a variety of camp activities, including crafts and nature Financial management skills and administrative ability Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality Computer literacy and technical knowledge of computer software programs such as Word, Publisher, Excel, and the Internet Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines and be a self-starter Ability to work well as a part of a team Knowledge of the Girl Scout program preferred
