This is a demanding position in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment. Success requires strong critical thinking, the ability to solve complex problems under time pressure, and a commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving market landscape.
Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Collaborate with market room traders, financial modelers, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements.
Translate requirements into implementable user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
Work closely with developers throughout the build process to ensure accurate implementation.
Develop comprehensive UAT plans, create test cases, and lead UAT execution.
Provide day-to-day support for end-user questions and production issues.
Independently lead meetings, drive discussions, and document business processes and data flows.
Understand not only process mechanics but the underlying rationale (“the Whys”) for debt and derivatives lifecycle workflows.
Stay current with market trends and evolving Treasury and fixed income practices.
Qualifications
B.S. or higher in quantitative finance, computer science, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Agile software development as a Business Analyst, preferably with large, complex systems.
Strong understanding of fixed income concepts—especially debt instruments, derivatives, and mortgage securities.
Ability to analyze and articulate both business processes and the underlying business drivers.
Proven experience independently conducting stakeholder meetings and documenting requirements.
Hands-on experience developing and executing UAT cases with full coverage of business requirements.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with traders, financial modelers, and technical staff.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Passing (or progress toward) FRM or CFA exams is highly desirable.
Open to strong junior candidates as well as experienced senior candidates.
Success Factors
Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new products, systems, and market concepts.
