The Treasury Analyst at Farmer Mac will support the Treasury front office teams’ issuance, derivative and investment activities. This includes business reporting, transaction documentation, derivative collateral monitoring and optimization, system testing and troubleshooting and partnering with the Treasury Operations and Accounting teams as a primary liaison with the Treasury front office teams. This position will not have trade execution authority. The individual must be detail oriented, capable of balancing competing priorities with firm deadlines while displaying the ability to work independently within established parameters. The People You Will Work With

The position will report to the Assistant Treasurer and primarily support the Treasury front office team tasked with debt issuance, hedging and investment activities. It will interact with Farmer Mac’s debt and derivatives counterparties and internal stakeholders across the Finance team, focusing on coordination with Treasury Operations and Accounting. The position will also support, together with the IT team, the front‑end systems and databases for trade capture across debt, derivative, and investment portfolios. Where and When You Will Work

Work is conducted following a hybrid model of a combination of work from home days and in‑person days at Farmer Mac’s headquarters at 2100 Pennsylvania Avenue N.W., Washington, DC. The Treasury team works in the office twice a week, subject to changes in policy. This is not a fully remote position; significant travel is not expected. Availability during market hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm Eastern Time) is required, with occasional out‑of‑core‑hours or out‑of‑day activities for time‑sensitive projects or off‑site meetings. Major Responsibilities and Duties

Support Financial Market Transactions

Assist in reviewing debt, derivative and investment transaction bookings for accuracy. Monitor the company’s cost‑of‑funds curve, market liquidity, and potential impacts from market changes and communicate information to the funding and investment teams. Assist portfolio managers in system updates for Farmer Mac’s funding curve, monitor new loan activity and monitor interest‑rate exposures on rate‑locked loans. Liaise between Treasury Front Office, Treasury Operations and dealers for trade settlement breaks on debt issuances, interest‑rate swap payments or investment securities transactions. Escalate as needed with counterparties and internal stakeholders. Derivative Collateral, Margin and Documentation Support

Lead and oversee the documentation process for the company’s debt issuances to ensure timely and accurate postings of debt offerings and execution of transactions with counterparties. Perform daily collateral validation and recommend collateral calls to counterparties. Lead the Treasury team’s workstream for managing initial margin and variation margin requirements and optimization across the company’s cleared and bilateral swap portfolios, including compliance buildout for Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR). Review and interpret terms of ISDA agreements and associated Credit Support Annexes ensuring collateral terms are properly documented in the system. Monitor and report on exposures to bilateral swap counterparties, including material changes in exposures and credit ratings, and partner with Treasury Operations to adjust margin postings as required. Lead the Treasury team’s review and execution of documentation for bilateral swaps. Data Integrity and Reporting

Work with the Finance Data Analytics team to resolve data gaps between front‑office trade capture system and the Finance data warehouse. Assist front‑office portfolio managers in capturing investor information on debt issuance trades and logging it into the trade capture system to improve investor‑relations targeting and reporting. Partner with portfolio managers and Accounting and Financial Reporting teams as needed to investigate data inconsistencies in front‑end trade systems, especially static data, cash flows and market‑data feeds from providers such as Bloomberg. Assist supervisor and portfolio managers in forecasting, ALCO, board and regulatory reporting on investment activities, funding market activity and derivative exposures. Support month‑end close process by updating call schedules, rate indices, missing security factors, missing securities prices and flagging positions that are not in the proper workflow configuration. Process Improvement, System Development, Regulatory and Audit

Support testing and implementation of new Treasury applications including annual upgrades for the Calypso system. Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives to enhance resource utilization, data management, knowledge sharing and reporting accuracy. Design, build, test and implement new processes to automate and enhance daily activities across multiple platforms, leveraging AI and robotic automation to streamline documentation, reporting and repeatable tasks. Work with Internal Audit/Enterprise Risk to provide information and test internal controls. Support portfolio managers to prepare and provide source information required for regulatory reporting. Conduct regular reviews of trading processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices. Assist with onboarding for new legal entities and ongoing KYC support, including front‑end system setup of legal entities. Partner with Enterprise Risk team for counterparty whitelisting and trade‑limit updates as appropriate. Desired Skills and Qualifications

Strong knowledge of financial markets, fixed‑income securities, financial derivatives, initial and variation margin requirements, GSE debt markets and a fundamental understanding of interest‑rate risk. Comfort in written communication with internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional work ethic and desire to support portfolio managers in improving trade execution outcomes. Ability to independently evaluate work processes to identify areas of improvement, including opportunities for AI or robotic automation. Strong command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint; competence with VBA and SQL preferred. Education and Experience

Minimum of 2.5 years of experience supporting a front‑office team with debt funding, liquidity investments, fixed‑income markets, derivatives, Treasury Operations, balance‑sheet management and margin requirements for cleared derivatives and bilateral interest‑rate swaps. Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, engineering or a related field required. Experience with a front‑office trade and risk system such as Calypso, Murex or similar strongly preferred.
