Job Summary The Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics is responsible for leading the strategic design, development, and execution of data reporting and business intelligence initiatives across the pharmaceutical organization. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant reporting of key data to support decision-making, regulatory filings, commercial performance, clinical operations, and supply chain management. The Director will work cross-functionally with IT, compliance, finance, quality, HUB Services, clinical, and commercial teams to build an enterprise-wide reporting strategy aligned with business goals and industry regulations.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement enterprise-wide reporting strategies to ensure high-quality, actionable data insights.

Align reporting infrastructure with company goals, regulatory requirements, and data governance standards.

Drive the evolution of data reporting capabilities through automation, advanced analytics, and visualization.

Participate in manufacturer account teams to include regular meetings with top and middle leadership levels.

Operational Oversight

Lead a team of analysts, developers, and data engineers responsible for delivering recurring and ad-hoc reports.

Manage priorities across commercial, clinical, regulatory, and financial reporting needs.

Oversee development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Access or Qlik.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with business unit leaders to define reporting KPIs and support strategic initiatives.

Serve as subject matter expert on data reporting during audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Guide change management and training related to reporting platforms and practices.

Data Governance & Quality

Champion data accuracy, completeness, and integrity in all reporting outputs.

Support the data stewardship framework and advocate for master data management.

Define and enforce reporting standards and metadata documentation practices.

Regular and reliable attendance expected.

Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Minimum Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred)

10+ years of experience in data analytics/reporting roles, with 5+ years in a leadership position

Prior experience in the specialty pharmaceutical or life sciences industry preferred

Strong knowledge of regulatory data standards and reporting obligations (FDA, GxP, EMA)

Proficiency with BI/reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Access, SAS, SQL)

Experience with data warehouses, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)

Demonstrated success managing cross-functional reporting initiatives in a regulated environment

Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
