Role Description : The Director of Supply Chain will lead the strategic development, optimization, and execution of the company’s global supply chain operations. This role is responsible for building a resilient supplier network, driving cost efficiency, ensuring material readiness, and enabling the seamless flow of goods across international markets. The ideal candidate is a seasoned supply chain leader who thrives in dynamic environments and can scale processes, systems, and teams in alignment with business growth. Responsibilities : Set the global supply chain strategy by identifying, evaluating, and developing a high-performing network of international suppliers. Lead executive-level negotiations, establish long-term strategic partnerships, and ensure reliable access to high-quality materials at competitive, scalable cost structures. Develop and execute the supply chain hiring strategy to build a high-performing team aligned with Ameresand’s growth and manufacturing needs. Drive enterprise-wide cost optimization by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to reduce total landed costs, including base pricing, tariffs, logistics, quality, and lead-time considerations. Establish frameworks and governance that balance cost efficiency with operational resilience. Oversee end-to-end inventory strategy across suppliers, manufacturing partners, and internal facilities. Implement systems, planning models, and policies that optimize inventory levels, support production schedules, and reduce working capital requirements. Provide visibility into global market trends, supply chain risks, lead-time fluctuations, and material availability. In doing this, guide risk-buying strategies and develop proactive mitigation plans to ensure uninterrupted production. Lead the development and execution of the company’s global logistics strategy, ensuring efficient, compliant movement of components and finished goods. Ensure adherence to international trade and regulatory requirements by governing tariff classifications, compliance processes, and documentation across all global operations. Build and scale tools, systems, and operational infrastructure that provide transparency into sourcing, material readiness, cost impacts, supplier performance, risk exposure, and continuous improvement opportunities. Define, monitor, and improve supply chain KPIs, including delivery performance, inventory turnover, supplier quality, and logistics lead times. Use data-driven insights to drive strategic decision-making and elevate performance across the organization. Partner with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align supply chain strategy with overall business objectives, ensure visibility to risks and opportunities, and support company-level planning, forecasting, and operational scaling. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Engineering, logistics, business, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred. Ideally someone with experience sourcing electrical power products. 10+ years' experience in a mix of program management, supply chain and engineering fields with evidence showing an exceptional ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Proven experience leading a supply chain organization focused on new technologies, the NPI process, in a startup environment. Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs processes. Demonstrated ability to work and lead cross functionally by managing teams & projects. Exceptionally strong communication and negotiation skills that demonstrate an ability to communicate visually, verbally, and in writing. Experience working with engineering teams focused on electrical systems, power electronics, or other similar products in a manufacturing / production environment. Ability to work well under pressure while simultaneously managing competing priorities, challenges, and risks. Effective response to adapting to these competing priorities, risks, and program changes as needed and quickly. Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% including internationally
