Seeking experienced Project Directors to lead the execution of complex energy infrastructure projects across natural gas, liquids, and power systems. This role requires strong engineering leadership, strategic planning, and end-to-end project execution experience within the oil & gas sector.
The Project Director will guide multidisciplinary teams and oversee the design, construction, and delivery of major capital projects such as pipelines, compressor stations, processing plants, and power generation units. This is a hands‑on, field‑focused role offering strategic impact and leadership visibility.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Strategy
Lead cross‑functional teams including engineers, project managers, designers, and technical specialists.
Oversee technical and business alignment of all project phases—from planning through commissioning.
Drive multi‑year departmental budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
Manage complex engineering programs and ensure adherence to organizational standards and safety protocols.
Technical Project Execution
Oversee the design, review, and approval of detailed engineering and project documentation.
Evaluate technical alternatives and perform risk assessments to support strategic decision‑making.
Ensure project execution aligns with DOT design standards and industry best practices.
Implement scalable processes, workflows, and tools for efficient project delivery.
Financial & Operational Oversight
Develop and control project budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
Utilize tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Oracle, and analytics platforms like Power BI.
Maintain performance metrics, project reporting, and data‑driven forecasting.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
Foster partnerships with contractors, EPC partners, producers, and cross‑functional business teams.
Communicate project milestones, risks, and progress to senior leadership.
Ensure contractor alignment and compliance with company requirements.
Additional Duties
Lead strategic initiatives across engineering and construction groups.
Support continuous improvement activities and operational readiness.
Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum 7 years in engineering, project controls, commercial operations, or project management within Oil & Gas
Strong technical, analytical, and leadership capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, engineering design review, and project execution workflows
Experience with project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Oracle Applications
Demonstrated ability to manage complex infrastructure projects
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Commitment to safety as the highest priority
Master's degree in Engineering or related field + 5+ years industry experience (Preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) License (Preferred)
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (Preferred)
Experience with Power generation facilities, Combined Cycle Plants, EPC project delivery, and advanced reporting tools such as Power BI (Preferred)
