Octagon, the world’s premier global sports marketing agency, is looking for a Manager, Social Strategy to join its digital strategy practice. In this role you will craft strategic and engaging social campaigns for our CPG energy brand client, working closely with community managers to plan, execute, and measure initiatives across organic channels.
Responsibilities
Develop innovative, data‑driven social media strategies for Instagram, TikTok, and X/Twitter.
Build campaigns based on insights, industry benchmarks, and emerging trends.
Prepare monthly content calendars across multiple streams, determining optimal timing and channels.
Collaborate with creative teams to identify assets needed for promotion.
Utilize social listening and measurement tools to research conversations and audiences, delivering data‑driven recommendations.
Present strategy recommendations to clients, explaining rationale.
Provide real‑time insights and optimization strategies, and post‑campaign recaps.
Spot emerging trends, creators, and conversations, recommending brand engagement opportunities.
Communicate updates and insights with client teams to shape future content.
Mentor and support a community manager, fostering skill development.

Qualifications
3–4 years of proven experience in social media strategy and/or community management.
Highly proficient in crafting, executing, and optimizing social media campaigns and amplification strategies.
Expertise in managing multiple projects from development to execution.
Strong experience with social listening tools (e.g., Infegy, Brandwatch). Ability to extract key findings and storytelling opportunities.
Highly skilled in creating social POVs for client programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy; work is consumer and client‑facing.
Proficiency with PowerPoint and ability to build and deliver client‑facing presentations.
Creative, generating innovative ideas and collaborating with creative and design teams.
Praised for staying ahead of social trends with passion for sports, entertainment, music, and lifestyle culture.
