Fleet Support Coordinator - Customer Service

Remote After Training | Akron, OH (Onsite Training Required)
After training: Primarily remote, with 2–3 in-office days per month
Pay $18-20 per hour
We are seeking Fleet Support Coordinators to join the Custom team. This is a high-volume customer service position serving as the primary liaison between drivers, clients, and internal departments. You will assist shipments from pickup through delivery, communicating delays, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive driver experience.
#1 skill required: Excellent customer service ability.
Schedule Requirements Candidates must be able to work the assigned schedule.
Once assigned, the schedule will remain consistent (5 days/week, 8-hour days).
Likely shift options include: Mon–Fri 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Mon–Fri 12:30 PM–9:00 PM
Sun–Thurs 10:00 AM–6:30 PM
Tues–Sat 12:30 PM–9:00 PM
Training & Work Arrangement
3-week onsite training in downtown Akron
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between drivers and clients/internal teams.
Monitor all in-progress shipments and intervene as needed.
Communicate delays (weather, traffic, mechanical issues, etc.) to clients and internal departments such as Sales or Safety.
Manage high-volume inbound calls from drivers and carriers.
Document all interactions thoroughly in the freight management system.
Respond to contractor questions and resolve basic issues; elevate when required.
Utilize strong listening skills to understand driver needs and provide solutions.
Adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED
0–1 year of customer service experience (call center or transportation helpful but not required)
Strong verbal communication
Solid documentation skillsProblem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to manage a fast-paced workload
