Surgery Scheduler for Alamo Urology Associates

Responsibilities
Triage surgical candidates as required by physicians
Work with appropriate hospital personnel to obtain information for surgery scheduling
Educate patients about planned surgery
Verify insurance information in an electronic system
Obtain insurance authorizations as required by individual plans prior to surgery
Work in concert with surgeons to obtain medical clearances and pre‑operative testing as required by hospital protocols
Confirm and reschedule return appointments, as necessary
Provide assistance to administrative or clinical staff as needed
Notify manager with patient account and insurance issues
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED with completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
CMA preferred; CPR required
Minimum 5 years of experience working in a physician office with prior surgery scheduling experience strongly preferred
Occasional local travel to support other offices
