Surgical Scheduler

- the master of calendars, the liaison between clinics and the OR, and a critical part of the patient journey.

In this role, you'll be the point person for coordinating surgical procedures, collaborating closely with Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) nurses, surgeons, and other departments. You'll make sure all the right people, paperwork, tools, and supplies come together at just the right time. It's part puzzle master, part customer service guru, part data wizard - and 100% essential to keeping our surgical services running like clockwork.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the Schedule:

Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with precision and professionalism

Be the Connector:

Communicate with clinics, patients, families, and care teams to gather key info

Support PAT RNs:

Help ensure patient documentation is complete and accurate

Run Reports:

Use our scheduling system to generate reports that support process improvement

Prep for Success:

Make sure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready for each procedure

Do It All (Secretly):

Perform high-level secretarial work with confidence and confidentiality

Juggle Like a Pro:

Handle shifting priorities, multiple tasks, and last-minute changes with grace

What You Bring

High school diploma or equivalent

3-5 years of experience in surgery scheduling or a fast-moving medical office

Strong communication skills – you're comfortable talking to patients, families, physicians, and staff

Independent thinker with sharp attention to detail

Excellent written communication and keyboarding skills

Tech-savvy with Microsoft Office and Windows experience

Cool under pressure – you handle sensitive info with care and keep things moving

Must complete SurgiNet training

to stay in this role - but don't worry, we've got your back.

Bonus Points (Preferred But Not Required)

Experience working directly with patients in a clinic, hospital, or medical office

Knowledge of basic medical terminology – or a strong interest in learning it!
