Our client, a fast-growing healthcare services provider, is seeking a strategic and hands-on AI & Automation Lead with deep experience in medical billing and healthcare revenue cycle operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven automation solutions to streamline the full billing lifecycle—improving accuracy, boosting operational efficiency, and scaling systems to support nationwide growth.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with billing and operations teams to identify and map automation opportunities across the revenue cycle, including eligibility, authorization, claim submission, payment posting, and denial management.
Design and implement AI and robotic process automation (RPA) solutions to increase billing efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Lead pilot initiatives to validate automation effectiveness and build data-driven cases for broader deployment across departments.
Create and maintain clear documentation for all automation projects, including technical workflows, user guides, and system protocols.
Oversee multiple concurrent initiatives, managing timelines, scope, and measurable KPIs for success.
Train and support internal billing and technical staff in adopting, maintaining, and optimizing newly developed automation tools.
Build and mentor a small, high-performing team of AI developers and data engineers as automation initiatives expand.
Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of healthcare tech innovation.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in medical billing operations, revenue cycle management, or healthcare administration systems.
Proven experience implementing AI, machine learning (ML), or RPA solutions within a healthcare or medical billing context.
Strong programming and integration skills, with hands‑on proficiency in Python, APIs, and modern workflow automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate, or similar).
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from concept to execution in fast‑paced environments.
Deep understanding of healthcare billing compliance, payor systems, and denial trends.
Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills with a sharp attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
