Security Engineer, Application Security, Level 4
We are looking for an Application Security Engineer to join Snap Inc.

What you’ll do
Conduct in-depth security reviews of applications, back‑end services, and business integrations, and build tooling for a secure development lifecycle.
Develop technical solutions to address security weaknesses and work with relevant stakeholders to implement them.
Build systems at scale to prevent classes of vulnerabilities.
Assist with security incident response as needed.
Be a champion for security and user privacy.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven impact in three or more of the following AppSec domains: Application Security Testing (SAST, DAST), Vulnerability Assessment, Secure Coding Practices, Security Architecture Design.
Proficiency in application security (assessments, finding and mitigating vulnerabilities) and driving implementation of preventative controls in partnership with product teams.
Strong software engineering skills in Golang, Java, or similar (not scripting or automation).
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, prioritize tasks, and work independently under minimal supervision.
Minimum qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field.
3+ years of experience in the field of Application Security or related security role.
Passion for learning and helping others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail.
Preferred qualifications
Solid foundation in web security, mobile security, or cryptography.
Demonstrated proficiency in software development.
Experience with securing AI/ML systems.

Compensation In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The starting pay will be based on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) : $157,000 – $235,000 annually.
Zone B : $149,000 – $223,000 annually.
Zone C : $133,000 – $200,000 annually.
Equity in the form of RSUs is also part of the total compensation.
