Sr. Platform Engineer - ECS
We’re looking for a senior-level Platform Engineer to work from our Fairfax, VA office. The role requires experience building and troubleshooting Linux systems, integrating containerized technologies, and working with Kubernetes and RHEL. The ideal candidate will have at least 8+ years of Linux system engineering, strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and be able to collaborate with Software, Project Management, and Systems Engineering teams to design, build, and deploy enterprise-scale solutions globally.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Documenting and reporting system discrepancies and remediation efforts
Supporting a team of Engineers permanently deployed to several CONUS and OCONUS locations
Performing security baselining
Managing containerized applications
Providing technical briefs to Government representatives
Generating technical documentation, architecture, and after‑action reports
Troubleshooting Linux systems in development and production environments
Communicating effectively within the Intelligence Community and DoD
Conducting cyclical inventory and maintaining an account of program hardware
Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds
Required Skills
B.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or related Information Technology field, with 8 years of Linux systems engineering experience
In lieu of a CS/IT degree, 10 years of Linux systems engineering experience
Active TS/SCI security clearance (must be willing to sit for a Counterintelligence (CI) Poly)
Active DoD 8140 Level II Baseline Certification
Experience utilizing containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes
Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools
Proven ability to work and collaborate with a software development team
Ability to travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations as needed
Desired Skills
TS/SCI (+CI Poly) security clearance
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise‑level systems
