Principal Duties and Responsibilities Content Creation & Storytelling
Lead the social media strategy, with a focus on creating brand awareness and differentiation.
Understand the audience journey to identify content gaps and opportunities.
Develop and produce photos, videos and graphic design assets for use across all delivery channels.
Support the creation of graphic design materials for admissions, advancement, and special events.
Digital & Social Media Management
Identify target audiences, market trends and competitor activities to inform creative development.
Manage and grow the school’s social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok) with a consistent voice and visual identity.
Plan and schedule posts to align with the communications strategy.
Supervise Be.Marian (Marian’s recruitment-focused account) and strategize with a team of student content creators and the recruitment director to capture the daily life of a Marian girl and showcase the vibrancy of the community.
Serve as a resource to sub-account managers.
Monitor engagement and respond to comments/messages.
Track, analyze and report content performance metrics (website traffic, social media engagement, email open rates) to inform future content strategies.
Brand Stewardship
Ensure all content reflects the identity, mission, and values of Marian.
Maintain an organized and accessible digital asset library of photos and videos for use across all digital and print materials.
Follow Marian’s brand standards, digital media policies, and the AP Style Guide to maintain consistency in tone, messaging and visual presentation.
Collaboration & Events
Partner with academics, athletics, recruitment, advancement and alumnae to tell stories that support enrollment, fundraising, and community engagement. Ideate and contribute to strategies across platforms and departments.
Attend and document key school events (e.g., liturgies, performances, athletic games, service projects, alumnae gatherings).
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency with photo/video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Cap Cut, or Final Cut Pro, or similar).
Experience with a DSLR camera.
Strategic understanding of social media platforms and analytics.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Creativity and an eye for visual detail.
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Proactive, assertive, collaborative and resourceful.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in content creation and social media management.
