Job Summary

The Paralegal will assist attorneys in defending civil litigation matters in insurance defense, general liability, and long‑term healthcare. The role requires close collaboration with clients and firm staff.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Drafts and prepares correspondence and other written documents under attorney direction, including responses, reports, filings, pleadings, answers, motions, interrogatories, opinions, position papers, letters, and other necessary documents.
• Prepares and tracks subpoenas and other requests for information.
• Maintains and organizes files.
• Monitors files and escalates issues requiring attorney involvement, handling highly sensitive items promptly.
• Maintains a calendar for trial and discovery deadlines; obtains trial settings, coordinates, and assists in preparation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of paralegal experience supporting litigators in civil defense in a high‑volume, fast‑paced law firm.
• Experience supporting nursing home defense, professional negligence, and general liability preferred.
• Georgia State filing, including e‑filing experience required; federal filing experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
• Critical thinking, excellent communication, organizational skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with time entry and billable time reporting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Location: Atlanta, GA | Salary: $60,000–$70,000
