$5,000 Sign on Bonus The University of Miami UHealth Department of Imaging Services invites applications for a full‑time MRI Technologist Level I in Miami. This role involves performing complex Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, operating scanner equipment, achieving high‑quality diagnostic images, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Core Job Functions

Obtains and examines the order for an MRI scan, reviewing requested procedures, patient condition, and special notes.

Ensures orders are appropriate and prompts physician or supervisor when needed.

Builds rapport with patients and verifies identity using electronic medical records and wristbands.

Collects MR procedure information, educates patients, and addresses questions.

Performs specialized tasks associated with MRI scanner operations under a Chief Technologist’s supervision using age‑appropriate standards of practice.

Integrates diagnostic, laboratory, and patient history data to adjust exams; adheres to MRI protocols for quality.

Demonstrates competence in completing MRI scans as ordered.

Assists patient positioning, uses immobilization, and protective equipment as required.

Maintains aseptic technique following universal precautions.

Assists with contrast media administration, including IV placement and power injector use.

Evaluates MRI scans for technical quality, processes images, and archives to PACS.

Charges procedures and supplies in UChart/Radiant.

Dispenses oral contrast and manages patient records.

Explains procedures to gain patient cooperation and allows questions.

Provides tailored care for children, adolescents, adults, geriatric and disabled patients following competency checklists.

Assists with basic life support (BLS) and ‘Code Blue’ procedures during emergencies.

Maintains a clean, sanitized work area and supplies inventory.

Provides on‑call coverage as required.

Reports unusual findings to supervising radiologist or personnel.

Completes clerical duties and supports new MRI technologists with orientation and training.

Collaboration with department staff and adherence to HR policy, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines including Joint Commission, AHCA, ACR, FL DOH, and FDA/MQSA.

Qualifications

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology/Diagnostic Imaging Program.

Certification and Licensing:

BLS certification required; ARRT registered and ARRT certified in primary modality or within one (1) year of hire date. Florida license as a General Radiographer preferred.

Experience:

One (1) year of relevant experience preferred; new graduates from accredited programs considered.

Accurate assignment completion, organizational and prioritization skills, confidentiality handling, evening/night/weekend availability, commitment to University values, independent and collaborative work capability.
