Firm Overview Financial Technology Partners ("FT Partners") is the only investment banking firm exclusively focused on the dynamic and fast‑growing financial technology sector. Our firm advises top‑tier fintech companies and financial sponsors on industry‑defining M&A, private capital raising, and strategic advisory transactions. Founded by former senior Goldman Sachs investment banker Steve McLaughlin, FT Partners brings a world‑class team and unmatched execution capabilities to both early‑stage and billion‑dollar‑plus transactions. We are consistently recognized as "Investment Banking Firm of the Year" and "Dealmaker of the Year" by The M&A Advisor.

Position Overview We are seeking a Vice President to join our Sponsor Coverage team. This senior role is ideal for an experienced investment banker with deep transaction execution skills, strong knowledge of the private equity / growth equity ecosystem and a passion for FinTech. The Vice President will lead complex capital raising and sponsor‑driven M&A transactions from origination through close, working closely with senior bankers across the firm while managing and mentoring junior team members. You will be responsible for building and strengthening FT Partners’ relationships with private equity firms and growth equity investors, playing a central role in the firm’s coverage and execution strategy across the private capital landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the execution of sell‑side and buy‑side M&A transactions and capital raises, including process design, investor outreach and marketing, and valuation analysis.

Work closely with senior bankers on relationship development and origination initiatives with financial sponsors.

Serve as a senior day‑to‑day contact with private equity and growth equity investors as well as other strategic partners.

Oversee and coach Analyst and Associate team members across deal processes, business development and strategic projects.

Evaluate investor feedback, term sheets, and market conditions to provide real‑time insights and recommendations to clients.

Collaborate with internal technology and data teams to build, optimize, and scale CRM infrastructure and sponsor intelligence platforms.

Leverage industry knowledge to stay ahead of fintech and private capital market trends and to support content generation and thought leadership.

Qualifications

5+ years of investment banking or other relevant experience, ideally with a focus on private capital raises, sponsor coverage, or M&A sell‑side advisory.

Demonstrated track record of leading and managing transaction processes from origination through close.

Deep understanding of financial sponsor landscape and knowledge of the most relevant private equity, growth equity, and venture capital investors.

Exceptional modeling, valuation, and analytical skills, including DCF, LBO, and market comps.

Strong commercial instincts with the ability to identify investor fit and make valuable introductions for both companies and investors.

High level of accountability, ownership, and leadership; thrives in high‑pressure, deadline‑driven environments.

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the poise to lead meetings with C‑level executives and investors.

FINRA Series 79 and 63 licensed (or willingness to obtain).

Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record (3.5 GPA or higher preferred).

U.S. work authorization required.
