Senior Clinical Scientist About the Role Working Location: Massachusetts, Westborough. Workplace Flexibility: Field. Olympus has been advancing medical technologies for more than 100 years, striving to improve patient outcomes worldwide.

This role collaborates closely with the leadership of Clinical Affairs to execute clinical strategy activities and oversee aspects of clinical studies in support of clinical evidence generation strategies across the GIS – Gastrointestinal Solutions Division; GI, EndoTherapy, Medical Service, and Endoscopic Solutions Ecosystem.

Key responsibilities include:

Contributing to an evidence generation strategy that drives the clinical evidence strategy for Olympus business units.

Providing critical input into Business Development, R&D, and product development project (PDP) activities to inform decision‑making on clinical evidence supporting a product’s value proposition.

Participating in strategic and operating planning activities with Global Clinical Leads to translate corporate and divisional initiatives into operational plans.

Designing clinical trials (protocol and CRF development), executing data collection, analysis, and interpretation, and closing out with final reporting.

Overseeing Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT) and Collaborative Clinical Research (CCR) initiatives.

Presenting clinical study updates to internal and external stakeholders and supporting publication strategies.

Supporting regulatory submissions.

Facilitating communication between Sales and Marketing, R&D, PMO, HEMA, Risk Management, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, and investigational sites.

Ensuring compliance with Olympus policies, regional and local regulatory requirements, and global guidelines and standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

BA/BS degree in life sciences or related field.

Minimum 8 years medical device industry experience post‑degree, preferably in Clinical Affairs/Operations or Medical Affairs within biotech.

Experience with evidence generation strategies.

Strategic thinking and ability to critically analyze and synthesize complex scientific data.

Scientific writing ability.

Project planning and organizational skills.

Innovation, resourcefulness, and work with minimal direction.

Team collaboration and individual contributor skills in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong verbal and written communication across organizational levels.

Experience engaging external stakeholders and building relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and research staff.

Attention to detail and strong organizational and follow‑up skills.

Consulting, facilitation, and communication skills bridging scientific and business priorities to manage effective international and cross‑divisional collaboration.

Experience working in a global cross‑functional team with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Domestic and international travel up to 5‑10%, including weekends and evenings, as needed.

Scheduling flexibility to commit to a global weekly schedule (Tuesday – Thursday) with extended hours.

Preferred:

Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine or related field.
