About the Role As a Senior Clinical Scientist, you will collaborate closely with Clinical Affairs leadership to develop and execute clinical strategy activities. Your work will support evidence generation across the Surgical & Interventional Solutions Division (SIS), covering Respiratory, Urology, Gynecology, Surgical Devices, Endoscopy, and ENT. You will be responsible for writing protocols, case report forms, and reports, engaging with study sites for approvals, and addressing questions throughout clinical study execution.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to an evidence generation strategy for Olympus business units.
Provide critical input into Business Development, R&D, and product development projects to assess clinical evidence supporting a product’s value proposition.
Participate in strategic and operational planning with Global Clinical Leads to translate corporate initiatives into actionable plans.
Design, execute, and close out clinical trials, including protocol and CRF development, data collection, analysis, and final reporting.
Oversee Investigator‑Initiated Trials and Collaborative Clinical Research initiatives.
Present clinical study updates to stakeholders; support publication strategies.
Facilitate communication among Sales, Marketing, R&D, PMO, HEMA, Risk Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and site investigators.
Ensure studies comply with Olympus policies, regulatory requirements, and global guidelines.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
BA/BS in life sciences or related field.
Minimum 8 years of medical device industry experience, preferably in Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, or operations.
Experience developing evidence generation strategies.
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and scientific communication skills.
Demonstrated scientific writing proficiency.
Ability to plan and organize complex projects.
Innovative, resourceful, and capable of working independently.
Team orientation with strong verbal and written communication.
Experience engaging external stakeholders and building relationships with key opinion leaders.
High organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in global cross‑functional teams and multicultural environments.
Domestic and international travel up to 5‑10%, including evenings and weekends.
Scheduling flexibility for a global weekly schedule (Tuesday–Thursday) with extended hours.
Preferred
Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, or related field.
Compensation Base salary range: $114,467.00 – $160,254.00 per year. Potential for an annual bonus, subject to eligibility.
