Registered Nurse - Pediatric Med/Surg Float (36/30/24 hr) – $10K Sign-On
Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our innovative Pediatric Float pool. This role offers flexible work schedules and the opportunity to provide expert care across multiple inpatient settings.
Pay Range Base pay: $40.60/hr - $87.44/hr
Additional incentives: $8.00/hr for all hours worked and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for 36-hour per week hires (prorated for fewer hours). Eligibility: RNs with at least 1 year of pediatrics inpatient experience.
Position Summary We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join our innovative Pediatric Float pool to meet the ever‑changing staffing needs across the enterprise, bringing expertise and growing in a variety of inpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
Provide competent nursing care to patients (newborn‑adult) and families across all inpatient settings including surgical, medical, oncology, and neuroscience units.
Potential for cross‑training in additional areas such as Emergency Department, Gastroenterology Procedure Unit (GPU), IV team, Inpatient Psychiatry, and Infusion Centers.
Deliver family‑centered care as a member of a multidisciplinary team that provides expert care.
Work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with many opportunities for learning and career growth with comprehensive orientation to meet individual needs.
Participate in hospital‑wide committees and precept new staff and nursing students.
Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Experience
Minimum 1‑year inpatient acute care RN experience; wide range of diagnoses preferred. Pediatrics RN experience preferred.
Ability to work 50% day/night rotations, every third weekend, with flexibility of availability required. Straight nights with every third weekend may also be available.
Licensure/Certifications
Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Eligibility for $10,000 sign-on bonus for 36‑hour per week hires (pro‑rated for less than 36 hours) for RNs with at least 1 year of pediatrics inpatient RN experience (Internal candidates and former BCH employees who have worked here in the past 2 years are not eligible).
Additional $8.00/hr incentive for all hours worked.
