Light Commercial Sales General Manager
Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, invites a self‑directed and results‑oriented professional to lead our Light Commercial (LCML) HVAC sales and margin growth through our distributors in the Southeast region. Regions include the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Chicago, and Eastern Pennsylvania.
As the Light Commercial Sales General Manager, you will lead Carrier’s established distribution customers, oversee distribution channel management activities, and ensure short‑to‑medium term objectives and goals are met.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary contact with distribution and channel management teams and strategic prospects, cultivating professional relationships to understand and meet customer needs within contractual scope.
Establish action plans and sales targets for each territory and review progress with local sales management regularly.
Partner with the sales channel to identify and sell sizeable light commercial opportunities.
Identify and visit key customers – contractors, consulting engineers, building owners and developers – and determine sales strategy to secure their business.
Provide regular updates to senior management on performance of assigned territories, sales channels and initiatives.
Collaborate across Carrier functions to identify replacement opportunities and upcoming projects with existing customers.
Work with marketing to identify Carrier product strengths versus competition and implement plans to capitalize.
Aggressively manage channel performance to drive Light Commercial products.
Establish an integrated set of metrics to proactively and retrospectively measure success in growing sales volume and margin.
Engage independent sales channel principals in assessments of performance, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction, and prepare contingency plans when performance is unsatisfactory.
Generate enthusiasm for Carrier’s light commercial HVAC portfolio and actively engage in industry associations to promote brand and portfolio.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
3+ years of experience in the HVAC industry.
5+ years combined experience in sales, product management, engineering, and/or marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience in 2‑step distribution processes.
Light Commercial Sales experience (e.g., rooftop HVAC units).
Executive presence and ability to engage with client and Carrier C‑suite executives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Sense of urgency, self‑initiative, dedication, and ownership.
Outstanding follow‑up and follow‑through skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and prioritization.
Unwavering customer service orientation with appropriate empathy.
