The Associate Director, Marketing & Business Development (MBD) Technology & Innovation, leads and co‑owns the strategy, implementation, and optimization of MBD technology platforms that drive business development, client engagement, and firm‑wide growth initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Operations & Transformation, MBD, this leadership role bridges marketing, business development and IT, ensuring seamless integration of tools and data to deliver measurable results and transformative impact.

We are targeting Boston and New York for this position but are open to considering candidates who are located where Mintz has an office.

Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Lead and co‑own the development and execution of a comprehensive MBD technology roadmap aligned with the firm’s growth ambitions and client‑first philosophy.

Partner with MBD senior leadership to identify and capitalize on opportunities for technology‑driven innovation in marketing and business development.

Demonstrate ownership and accountability for MBD technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and measurable outcomes.

Co‑own internal communications strategy for successful deployment and adoption of MBD tech systems.

Technology Management, Innovation, and Reporting Oversee the firm’s MBD technology stack, including CRM (Foundation 365), ERM (Introhive), experience management (Foundation), email marketing (Concep), and website management.

Lead end‑to‑end implementation of new MBD technologies, including scoping, timeline development, stakeholder coordination, budget, vendor management, testing, and post‑launch support.

Ensure proper data flow and integration across platforms, maintaining data quality, compliance, and usability for marketing and business development teams and system end‑users.

Implement dashboards and reporting tools for real‑time visibility into marketing KPIs.

Integrate AI‑driven workflows and explore opportunities to advance systems through AI capabilities, enhancing automation, personalization, and predictive analytics.

Team Oversight and Collaboration Manage and mentor a team of MBD technology professionals, including system administrators and data stewards, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Work closely with business development, marketing, IT, knowledge management, innovation, and practice groups to ensure technology adoption and user training.

Serve as the subject matter expert for MBD technology, advising on best practices and emerging trends.

Develop and lead training programs for marketing and business development teams to ensure adoption and effective use of new technologies.

Maintain relationships with technology vendors and monitor vendor effectiveness through KPIs and feedback loops; lead periodic reviews to assess alignment with evolving business needs.

Market Agility and Innovation Stay agile and informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and critical developments in the legal and marketing technology landscape.

Proactively pivot and evolve systems and strategies to stay ahead of industry changes.

Drive innovation through continuous evaluation and enhancement of MBD technology platforms.

This role requites 60% in‑office presence; remote work is permissible 40% of the time.

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in MBD technology, digital strategy, or related fields, preferably within professional services or legal industry.

Prior leadership experience with a track record of strategic ownership, team management and development, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Deep understanding of MBD technology platforms, data integration, and AI applications.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to influence others.

Ability to function in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment, prioritize multiple projects on a daily basis, and adjust to shifting priorities.

Strong planning, project management and organizational skills.

Strong sense of urgency.

Facility analyzing, working with and presenting data.

Ability to collaborate and gain the respect, trust, and confidence of the Firm’s attorneys and professional staff.

Possess a “hands‑on” tactical approach.

Creative and proactive approach to problem solving.

Facilitate teamwork and identify opportunities to develop new processes/infrastructure.

Demonstrated ability to grasp and implement new concepts quickly.

Strong analytical abilities, resourcefulness, and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and positive style that fosters collaborative working relationships.

Outstanding sense of customer service, with demonstrated ability to instill this in others.

The salary range for this position in each office location is:

NYC: $225,000-$255,000

DC: $225,000-$255,000

CA: $215,000-$255,000
