Senior Discipline Engineer – Balance of Plant Mechanical Systems (Remote Eligible, U.S.)
Join GE Vernova as a Senior Discipline Engineer focused on Balance of Plant Mechanical Systems for our BWRX-300 Standard Plant. The role is based at GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, with remote options for qualified U.S. candidates.

Senior Discipline Engineers will be part of a multi‑discipline technical team responsible for applying GEH new plant technology to each prospective customer site, providing detailed statements of work, technical write‑ups, estimates, schedules and risk assessments to support site selection, permitting, and licensing milestones.
Responsibilities
Part of an engineering team ensuring proposals and early works packages align with our standard offering.
Identify site‑specific technical departures for balance of plant systems, plan engineering solutions, and provide associated costs, cycle times and risks.
Maintain effective discipline‑specific design interfaces and document these in deliverables that become part of proposals.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal discipline engineering teams.
Interface with external partners, customers and regulatory agencies on technical issues.
Build estimates, schedules and identify risks associated with different opportunities.
Guide external partner engineering resources to ensure quality of deliverables and cost positions.
Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business.
Protect GEVH intellectual property rights.
Support GEVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification.
Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related science or technical discipline.
At least 8 years of progressive experience in engineering design.
At least 4 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large‑scale new‑build experience in the power industry.
Eligibility Requirements
Preferred work location: GEH Headquarters, Wilmington, NC; highly qualified U.S. remote candidates may be considered.
Role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. Final offers contingent on authorization to access such information from the U.S. Government.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with strategic thinking, creativity and quick execution.

EPC experience and knowledge, specifically in power plant.
Understanding of nuclear industry and technology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that advance business knowledge and capability.
