Scientist-Antibody Discovery and Engineering
We are an early‑stage, venture‑backed biotechnology company operating in stealth mode, developing a novel platform for protein‑based radioligand therapies. Our mission is to transform the precision oncology landscape by integrating protein engineering and radiochemistry to create next‑generation targeted radiotherapeutics that deliver potent and selective tumor cell killing.
As part of a multidisciplinary founding team, you will work alongside experts in protein science and oncology to help bring our first candidates from concept to clinic.
Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Antibody Discovery and Engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to the discovery and optimization of therapeutic antibodies using advanced technologies such as phage/yeast display, mutagenesis, and integrated lead screening. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment focused on developing next‑generation biologics. This is an on‑site position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead VHH and Attobody™ discovery campaigns using yeast and phage display technologies, including experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting.
Perform hands‑on Attobody™ discovery workflows, including library construction, panning, output screening, single‑clone characterization, and data summarization.
Analyze binding kinetics, specificity, and stability of antibody leads using biochemical and biophysical assays such as SPR, BLI, ELISA, and cell‑binding studies.
Accurately document experiments and maintain electronic lab notebooks (Benchling) in a timely manner.
Conduct in‑depth data analysis and effectively communicate results in project meetings, ensuring alignment with timelines and goals.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (protein science, biology, and in vivo pharmacology) to optimize antibody properties.
Coordinate with CROs on activities related to animal immunization, protein production, and characterization.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree in Biology or a related field with 5+ years of experience in antibody discovery, or a Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Proven ability to design and apply in‑vitro antibody discovery display technologies (e.g., phage display, yeast display) for antibody discovery and/or engineering.
Strong molecular biology skills, including PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, plasmid preparation, gel extraction, cloning, and Sanger sequencing analysis.
Hands‑on experience with SPR (Carterra LSA, Biacore) or BLI (Octet, Gator), ELISA and flow cytometry.
Demonstrated scientific productivity and independence, with strong problem‑solving skills.
A strong desire to work in a dynamic startup environment is essential.
Comfortable working in an environment involving radiolabeled therapeutics.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication skills to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Experiences leading projects from antibody discovery to drug candidate selection.
Knowledgeable in recombinant protein production and characterization.
Proficiency with bio‑tools such as GraphPad Prism, Geneious, FlowJo and Benchling.
Demonstrated track record in managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks to meet schedules and timelines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to present effectively to teams.
Salary Base pay range: $125,000.00/yr – $150,000.00/yr. The final salary will be dependent on type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
