The mission of the Geotechnical Project Manager for HVJSCT, a leading specialty engineering firm in Texas, is to assure client satisfaction through preparation of quality reports that address the specific project requirements within the project schedule, budget and design constraints.
This Includes Responsibility For
Forecast project beginning, schedule and profitability.
Develop and implement actions needed to achieve or exceed project goals.
Prepare proposals including detailed cost estimates.
Provide client satisfaction.
Guide and mentor junior staff.
Team building.
Assist with business development.
Track project expenses to ensure actual work is performed within budget.
Review invoices prior to issuance.
Manage projects, meeting HVJ financial goals and quality standards. Sign/seal technical reports.
Review all reports prior to submittal to the client for completeness and accuracy.
Identify and pursue new opportunities to grow geotechnical engineering services.
Key Criteria/Requirements
MSCE with at least 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience, or BSCE with at least 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
Must have a Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas.
Experience in TxDOT, city and municipality projects is a plus.
Experience with Central and South‑Central Texas geology and soil conditions is a plus.
Experience with conventional and advanced geotechnical testing and data interpretation.
Knowledgeable on routinely used geotechnical software.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
Position will require the candidate to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self‑motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.
Position will require working with supporting staff, managers and clients; therefore, the candidate needs to be a team player.
Valid Texas Driver’s License with no history of accidents or alcohol/drug related traffic offenses and valid right‑to‑work documents.
