Overview An entry‑level Family Practice Physician position at the Defense Health Agency. This direct‑hire solicitation is based in Everett, Washington. Responsibilities
Serve as a recognized technical authority in the delivery of Family Medicine and the Urgent Care Clinic.
Independently formulate full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and evidence‑based clinical practice guidelines.
Coordinate with facility and community resources to provide multi‑disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients.
Apply new procedures in the evaluation and treatment of complex patient cases.
Conduct research for the advancement of the Family Medicine program and for quality improvement to other providers and patients.
Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life‑saving emergency procedures when necessary.
Encourage patients to make difficult lifestyle changes to improve their health.
Serve as member of the professional medical staff and provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/or boards.
Other duties assigned.
Qualifications Who may apply:
U.S. citizens.
Basic Requirements for Physician (Family Practice):
Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian school accredited by an authoritative body or proven equivalent to U.S. accredited schools.
Current, active, full, and unrestricted state, District of Columbia, commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory Physician license or registration.
At least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting (e.g., one‑year internship or first year of a residency program).
Successfully completed accredited residency training in Family Practice or equivalent experience, at least four years total. Residency training is required and cannot be substituted by equivalent experience.
International medical graduates who obtained their credential outside the U.S. must demonstrate equivalency through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth‑pathway certificate for American students, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Human resources may request transcripts for education verification.
