Transportation Procurement Specialist
for our Corporate HQ in
Columbia, MO
and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.
EquipmentShare is searching for an experienced Transportation Procurement Specialist to work alongside our Transportation, DOT, and our Administration teams. This position would be responsible for the procurement of vehicles, trailers and equipment ranging from light duty pickups and vans to Class 8 trucks and trailers.
Primary Responsibilities
Reports to the Director of Transportation. Interacts frequently with multiple key stakeholders across Fleet Operations, Branch Operations, Procurement, Accounting, Service Operations and Business Analytics
Assist the Director of Transportation to annually forecast the procurement of work trucks, passenger vehicles and trailers
Actively supports and manage monthly/quarterly/annual financial forecasting of CapEx budget
Actively supports and manages monthly/quarterly/annual production forecasting of various vehicle/trailer specifications
Provide analytical support to streamline the process of vehicle and trailer purchase and allocation
Vehicles requiring up-fit; manage chassis allocation and transportation schedules between dealerships and up-fitting partners
Actively supports the fulfillment of assets on rent from non-EquipmentShare providers
Actively supports the fulfillment of market expansion request
Monitor Transportation’s fleet inventories to offset CapEx expenditures
Actively provides support in the decommissioning and re-marketing of assets
Possess the ability to calculate TCO and perform Life-cycle analysis
Ability to implement and maintain systems, procedures, and policies related to the procurement of fleet assets
Partner with others to design and implement process and system updates in support of global initiatives
Thoroughness and precision in analyzing vendor data, documenting requirements and performance through vehicle acquisition score cards
Lead warranty initiatives for the Transportation Fleet as a liaison to the Corporate Warranty Team
Ensure all specifications meet FMCSA regulatory compliance
Emphasis on continuous improvement with Transportation Acquisitions processes and procurement

Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of fleet specifications for all classes of work trucks, passenger vehicles and trailers
Proficient in fleet technical writing
Ability to develop and sustain relationships with manufacturers, vendors and dealerships
Understanding of fleet compliance and regulatory requirements as it pertains to OEM upfitters
Cross-functional support across multiple departments
Experience with new process development and process improvement opportunities
Experience in change management through process development, planning and execution
Strong Collaboration and negotiation skills
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to change
High level of integrity, trust and confidentiality required
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience required.
At least 5 years of experience providing support to a high volume acquisition group procuring vehicle and trailers to support operational initiatives.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds on occasion
If working remote, must be able to travel to Columbia, MO up to 50% of the time with overnight required
