Position RN-Director of MDS (Full Time)
Overview The RN-Director of MDS will play an integral role in helping us achieve our vision: to consistently exceed expectations and set the standard for excellence in residential and community care. The Director will lead and oversee all aspects of the MDS process, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and optimal reimbursement.
Responsibilities
Monitor Clinical Model Index (CMI) and lead related meetings.
Review MDS assessments to ensure accurate coding and conduct PDPM reviews upon admission and prior to submission.
Collaborate with rehab to verify correct primary diagnoses.
Review UB04s, manage ADR responses and appeals, and coordinate with Livanta.
Submit timely documentation to the billing company and respond to audit inquiries.
Run Medicare Part B reports and actively participate in key facility meetings including Medical Board, Therapy, QAPI, and Utilization Review.
Maintain compliance with federal and state guidelines to maximize reimbursement.
Qualifications
Current New York State RN license.
Three or more years of experience in a long-term care facility as an MDS Coordinator.
Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid criteria and assessment regulations.
Excellent listening and communication skills; ability to complete documentation in a timely manner.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing assessments.
RAC Certification and prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
Salary $140,000 – $160,000 per year.
