Senior Electrical Panel Assembly Technicians

for contract assignments supporting the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. In these roles, you will make critical contributions to ensuring safe, consistent, and groundbreaking advancements in human spaceflight as part of the

Artemis

Program . These roles will begin in a shop environment on the SPACE COAST or WESTERN FLORIDA and transition into the field at KENNEDY SPACE CENTER. Our client is targeting $45.00/hour for this role, depending on experience.

Due to the requirements of federal government contracts, candidates must have U.S. Citizenship Local candidates only

no per diem available for these positions This position is for the day shift, generally working 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, which includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. (50-Hour Minimum Work Week) This position is expected to be 100% onsite with limited travel. Any work location outside home base (more than 50 Miles) would be reimbursed with local GSA rates.

Functions And Responsibilities

Install avionic components and systems, ensuring operational reliability and adherence to design specifications Read instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists, to determine materials needed and the sequence of assembly Mount and install components, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), relays, contactors, switches, and terminal blocks in panel enclosures Measure, cut, solder, and/or crimp wire and contacts to fabricate a wire harness Conduct detailed installations, including intricate cable harness configurations, ensuring all avionic installations meet safety and quality standards Inspect, test, and verify avionics assemblies against technical models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions Troubleshoot panel system issues, carrying out necessary modifications, rework, repairs, or maintenance to resolve malfunctions Ensure the optimal function of GSE systems by conducting thorough inspections, cleanings, measurements, and testing activities Understand and adhere to quality management systems standards, requirements, and procedures Collaborate with teams to perform in-field harness installations Spearhead continuous improvement efforts in avionic installation processes, prioritizing safety and operational efficiency Maintain a collaborative team environment, effectively balancing multiple priorities and adapting to rapidly evolving project needs Treat all team members with respect and dignity, ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained

Required Skills And Experience

Minimum of an associate's degree in a related field of study (Extensive professional experience in lieu of a college education will be considered) Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrical/cable fabrication technician working with panels, wiring, and mechanical installs Proven experience working from engineering drawings, wire diagrams, and electrical schematics Demonstrated experience with avionics/panel manufacturing and operation of related test equipment Proficiency in harsh environment testing and assembly procedures Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/ WHMA-A-620, MIL-DTL-22520, NASA-STD-8739, J-STD-001, and ANSI/ESD S20.20 Proven proficiency in using measurement tools and basic math concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks Physical ability to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns, which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a shop and construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces, and lifting to 40 lbs.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing role in aerospace or a similar industry, with a focus on rack or panel fabrication Proven success as a hands-on technical leader Strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities Electromechanical systems and electrical/mechanical assembly background IPC J-Std-001 and/or IPC-620 certification, NASA space addendum 8739.4 certification
