About the Role
Under direction of the Operations Manager, schedule and coordinate surgical appointments, serve as liaison between patients and OR staff, and maintain accurate records.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma. Effective communication, precision and accuracy. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Epic software knowledge is an advantage. Ability to communicate well with patients and all levels of staff. Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time. Works well individually and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant experience. Three years of medical office experience. Experience obtaining prior authorizations and knowledge of insurance authorization processes.
Responsibilities
Schedule, reschedule, or cancel surgical appointments. Communicate with surgical candidates to set up appointments and provide pre‑operative information. Coordinate surgical scheduling information flow into and out of the clinic. Maintain direct communication with OR staff. Contact outside agencies for insurance pre‑authorization and other documentation. Communicate with patients and medical staff to address missing information. Resolve scheduling problems by consulting appropriate resources. Answer telephone calls efficiently and courteously. Provide information and route calls appropriately. Update electronic medical record accurately. Perform other duties as requested by management.
Compensation
Pay range: $17.63 - $27.77 per hour; Full time (0.9-1.0 FTE). 8 Hr work schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
