Embrace Living Communities has an opening for a Staff Accountant at 1900 Spring Rd, Ste 450, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for handling and supporting the accounting department with day-to-day accounting activities. Supports the Embrace Living Communities wellness culture that encourages active aging and “living well.”
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Create a responsive living environment for seniors and physically challenged individuals that is aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Works collaboratively with assigned housing community employees to promote harmonious relationships among residents, employees, families and partners.
Accounts payable support: Assist with invoice processing, vendor payments, and client billing to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records; reconcile accounts payable transaction
Post month/year end transactions and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Prepare and maintain monthly cash ledgers and reports and reconcile all bank accounts
Account reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts to maintain data integrity.
General ledger maintenance: Record and reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Month-end and year-end close: Assist with closing procedures, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
File compliance reports with government agencies
Provide support for audits.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field required.
1 to 3 years of previous accounting experience or related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or compliance requests from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors.
Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisors, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
Ability to apply general concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in accounting software, preferably Acumatica. Required to have experience with Microsoft Office Tools.
