Early Phase Director of Business Development
to join a growing leader in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space for a
remote permanent position
based out of
The Bay Area, CA . The
Early Phase Director of Business Development
will focus on strategic relationship management with key clients and driving growth through collaboration, rather than transactional selling. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Phase I clinical trials and a strong understanding of the clinical research landscape.
Responsibilities of the Early Phase Director of Business Development include:
Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring alignment with their clinical development needs.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on Phase I trial strategies and operational models.
Develop and execute regional growth plans that prioritize client retention and satisfaction over transactional sales.
Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical operations, commercial, and marketing teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client objectives.
Monitor account performance, identify opportunities for expanded partnerships, and ensure a steady pipeline of relationship-driven business.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the business development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and client-centricity.
Qualifications for the Early Phase Director of Business Development include:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience with Phase I clinical trials, including operational and strategic considerations.
Strong knowledge of the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, including market trends and regulatory requirements.
Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships within a clinical research context.
Expertise in contract negotiations, proposals, and strategic account planning.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience guiding teams toward relationship-focused goals.
Compensation for the Early Phase Director of Business Development:
Salary Range:
$180,000-$200,000/year (USD) + commission
Comprehensive Benefits:
