What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Director of Quality Engineering & AI-Driven Testing to lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of quality engineering for TradeStation’s new enterprise-grade order management system. This role emphasizes building and scaling automated testing for both APIs and web UI components and combines hands-on technical depth with strategic leadership. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in quality engineering and test automation, with hands-on experience applying AI/ML to enhance coverage, reliability, and defect detection. What You’ll Be Doing
Evaluate and integrate AI-powered testing solutions (e.g., intelligent test generation, self-healing scripts, predictive defect analytics) to measurably improve automation efficiency and coverage Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality engineering team dedicated to the enterprise order management system, with clear roles, career paths, and operating rituals Establish and implement robust test automation frameworks for APIs and web UI that improve coverage, speed, and reliability across critical workflows Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Security to embed QA in the SDLC, align on quality goals, and ensure secure, timely delivery Architect scalable strategies for synthetic and production-like test data, dynamic environment provisioning, and seamless CI/CD pipeline integration to support continuous testing Define and track key quality metrics, deliver actionable insights to stakeholders, and drive continuous, data-informed quality improvements Lead the evaluation, selection, and lifecycle management of modern testing tools across API, UI, end-to-end, and performance testing, aligned with enterprise standards Champion manual and exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, usability issues, and complex scenarios not suited for automation Ensure thorough documentation of test cases, testing processes, and best practices to support knowledge sharing, onboarding, and audit compliance Promote a quality-first culture through training, shift-left testing, and embedding quality gates throughout development Drive standardization of testing tools, processes, and reporting across teams for consistency, scalability, and maintainability Ensure AI-enhanced testing practices are scalable, explainable, and aligned with enterprise QA standards Apply AI/ML to speed up test case creation, optimization, and regression prioritization Use predictive and anomaly-detection models to identify high-risk areas and uncover edge-case failures Leverage LLMs/NLP to translate trading rules into executable test scenarios Utilize AI-enabled automation frameworks and intelligent test tools to reduce manual effort Interpret model outputs and use explainable-AI insights to improve QA reporting and decision-making The Skills You Bring
Proven expertise architecting and scaling automated test frameworks for APIs (REST/GraphQL/gRPC) and web UI using leading industry tools, with a focus on reliability and maintainability Deep familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test environments, and release management, including integration of quality gates and reporting Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of cross-functional collaboration Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and drive continuous improvement in testing practices Demonstrated success applying AI/ML techniques within QA frameworks to optimize test coverage, defect prediction, and release confidence Ability to foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning by encouraging experimentation and adopting emerging technologies and practices Established track record of partnering with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Security leaders to align on quality goals and accelerate delivery through shared accountability Experience with cloud infrastructure and automated provisioning (AWS), including environment orchestration for testing Experience with enterprise order management systems or other transactional platforms preferred Applied AI/ML approaches to software testing and optimization preferred Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks for financial transaction systems preferred Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience 8+ years in quality engineering experience, including 3+ years leading automation initiatives at scale What We Offer
