Position Summary
The Executive Director provides leadership, strategic direction, and hands‑on management for the Truckee Downtown Merchants Association. The ideal candidate brings experience in organizational leadership, brand development, community engagement, and event coordination, along with strong communication and project‑management skills. A passion for Truckee’s historic downtown and local business community is essential.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Lead annual and multi‑year strategic planning.
Guide rebranding and communication efforts across digital and social media.
Strengthen membership engagement and organizational visibility.
Operations and Community Engagement
Facilitate board and stakeholder meetings.
Represent TDMA at community events and public meetings.
Maintain strong communication with members, partners, and local organizations.
Event Management
Oversee planning and execution of TDMA’s signature events, including Truckee Follies and Truckee Thursdays.
Coordinate logistics, volunteers, vendors, and partnerships.
Advocacy and Partnerships
Serve as primary liaison to civic leaders, local government, and community partners.
Advocate for policies and initiatives that support a vibrant downtown business district.
Financial and Administrative Management
Manage annual budget and financial reporting.
Coordinate with the Treasurer and CPA on required filings.
Oversee day‑to‑day operations, recordkeeping, scheduling, and communication.
Marketing and Outreach
Oversee digital presence, marketing campaigns, media relations, and member communications.
Beautification and Revitalization
Lead beautification efforts, maintenance contracts, lighting programs, and revitalization initiatives.
Qualifications Experience in nonprofit or community‑based leadership.
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills.
Experience in marketing, social media, or brand development.
Ability to manage multiple projects and events in a fast‑paced environment.
Commitment to promoting and preserving Truckee’s downtown.
