Registered Nurse II – Part Time, Days, Every Weekend – Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center, bonus $12,500 (Code 250001KS)
Overview Medical services are provided in a teaching environment under the supervision of board‑certified emergency physicians and registered nurses, consistent with standards of emergency nursing practice. The team collaborates with other departments that impact EMTC operations. ED patients are registered by Registration/Patient Access/Admission staff who report to the Director of Business Operations. The EMTC provides medical screening and emergency care to over 120,000 patients and families annually, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) to triage care. Conditions range from mild to life‑threatening, including common pediatric illnesses, behavioral emergencies, sepsis, burns, and cardiac arrest. The EMTC stabilizes patients and, if necessary, arranges transfer to the appropriate treatment site.
Unit Description Emergency Medicine and Trauma Services (EMTC) is a tertiary care, Level 1 trauma center located on the first floor of the Sheikh Zayed Campus on Michigan Ave NW. The campus comprises six patient‑care areas: a 4‑bed psychiatric area; 18 decontamination showers with psychiatric area use; a 6‑bed Rapid Treatment Unit (RTU); and additional spaces as needed. The EMTC reports to the Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President of Nursing, and operates with a multidisciplinary leadership team.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
A.A. required; B.S.N. preferred.
Minimum RN Experience:
1 year required.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia; Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). License, BLS, and other regulatory requirements must be maintained.
Additional Skills:
Complete hospital and nursing orientation; keep knowledge base current with specialty updates.
