Pre-Construction Coordinator

to join its Project Management & Engineering team. This role supports early-stage project development and pre-construction activities for utility-scale PV and storage projects across the U.S.

Overview The Pre-Construction Coordinator plays a key role in supporting project design, permitting, procurement, estimating, and overall project readiness. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to keep project development activities on track from early concept through the start of construction.

Core Responsibilities

Support utility-scale solar and storage projects from early development through pre-construction.

Facilitate design and permitting workflows to ensure smooth project progression.

Assist procurement in preparing RFPs for equipment vendors, service providers, and EPC contractors.

Support estimating leads with cost estimates, bid reviews, data management, and communication.

Help define scopes of work and support vendor and contractor coordination.

Lead portions of the bid and procurement process to secure competitive solutions.

Assist with contract and agreement management, ensuring accurate documentation and organization.

Utilize project management tools to streamline design, engineering, and permitting activities.

Coordinate with external consultants on engineering, site investigations, and other pre-construction tasks.

Provide support with data management, documentation flow, and maintaining project schedules.

Assist in developing project budgets and provide ongoing administrative support to the Pre-Construction team.

Serve as the primary point of contact for owner-furnished equipment on assigned projects.

Partner with internal teams to develop cross-functional project tracking tools.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across pre-construction processes.

Qualifications & Experience

3+ years of construction experience; experience with utility-scale solar or battery storage strongly preferred.

General understanding of EPC contracts and equipment supply agreements.

Experience collaborating with EPC project teams.

Familiarity with budgets, project scheduling tools, and the bid/procurement process.

Understanding of utility-scale solar workflows, including interconnection.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word required); Smartsheet experience is a plus.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and partners.

Proactive, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits or meetings.

Flexible and able to operate effectively in a dynamic business environment.
