Midlevel to Senior ECVC Associate – AI, Web3, Blockchain – SF / Silicon Valley / LA / NYC
Our AmLaw 50 client is growing its Emerging Companies & Venture Capital group and is adding a midlevel to senior associate across four key offices: San Francisco, Silicon Vally, Los Angeles, and New York. The group sits at the intersection of venture capital, frontier technologies, and strategic M&A, backed by a firm repeatedly recognized in Chambers for venture capital, technology, and fintech work and consistently ranked among Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” for over two decades.
Role Summary
Serve as trusted counsel to startups and emerging growth companies from incorporation through exit, as well as to venture and growth equity funds that invest in them.
Lead and support venture financings, SAFE and convertible rounds, preferred equity deals, and secondary transactions.
Advise founders and boards on corporate governance, cap table issues, and strategic transactions, including acquisitions and portfolio company exits.
Work on matters that touch AI, Web3, blockchain, crypto, metaverse, and other frontier technologies, often with cross-practice input from the firm’s nationally ranked fintech, technology, and digital assets teams.
Operate as part of an integrated ECVC platform with partners and associates across the West Coast and New York handling thousands of financings from pre‑seed through growth stages.
Candidate Profile
At least 4 years of ECVC, startup, or venture-side experience from a peer AmLaw platform or highly regarded boutique.
Significant experience running or heavily staffing venture financings and other private company transactions, including drafting and negotiating core deal documents.
Familiarity with or interest in regulatory and strategic issues around AI, Web3, blockchain, crypto, metaverse, and other next‑generation technologies.
Strong writing, judgment, and client‑handling skills, with the ability to manage concurrent workstreams for sophisticated founders, boards, and investors.
Bar admission: California for SF / Palo Alto / LA and New York for NYC, or a clear path to admission.
